We cut this font from the original 6" patterns. Old plywood that is almost worn out was cut into new 3" patterns which we use to cut your type. I have a blog article on Making Rugged. It was the first font that I attempted to make and I learned a lot in the process. Rugged was American Wood Type Mfg. Co.'s version of Neuland which was foundry type hand cut by Rudolph Koch in 1923.
