Archimedes

The history of making Archimedes began when Geri McCormick asked John Horn of Shooting Star Press what font he would like to be made to fill in his collection of wood type. This font is known as Page No. 122. It is extremely rare and could only be found in four wood type collections. Hamilton Wood Type agreed to pull proofs and this font became a collaboration between Hamilton Wood Type, P22 Type Foundry and Virgin Wood Type.

James Grieshaber has put together a Behance page that describes the process of the making this font into wood type again.

Currently we are only offering the uppercase in this font. The punctuation is included when you buy the uppercase. This font includes an ornament inspired by the letterforms. Also a bullet comes with this font. If you are interested in the figures contact us and we can make the patterns and the type for the figures.
