Almost every wood type maker offered a version of Gothic Tuscan Condensed, and now Virgin Wood Type happily offers its own. Our version was based largely on a proof of type believed to have been made by Wm. H. Page Wood Type Co., but we cannot verify because the all-important A was missing which might have had a maker's mark.

Each maker had its own style for figures, so we decided to standardize the look of the figures to match the font overall.

James Greishaber, in-house type designer, created a manicule pair inspired by the classic Gothic Tuscan Condensed design. A pair is included with every order.

Production Note: we cut all fonts to order. A typical delivery is 2 to 4 months after placing an order.
