A collaboration between Virgin Wood Type and Jennifer Farrell of Starshaped Press was a natural extension of a longtime friendship between Geri and Jen. Over a couple months in early 2017 Jen designed 6 matching pairs of ornament sets. According to Jen, they were "inspired by the simplicity and asymmetry of nature, as interpreted by the prairie style approach to design." Geri provided aesthetic feedback as well as practical suggestions for what would work when translating the designs to wood. Being a proud Chicagoan, Jen named each set after notable Chicagoans, Ida Terkel and Lucy Parsons.

Working with Ida and Lucy, Jen printed labels for each box. Each collection includes 6 designs, 4 of each, totalling 24 ornaments. Combining Ida and Lucy ornament sets together allows for hundreds of design combinations.
