This face evokes mid-century modernism and its distinctive letter forms give it a voice that fits well in the narrative that is wood type.

Virgin Gothic is based on patterns that came from American Wood Type. There were only 16 surviving glyphs. James Grieshaber had to imagine the rest of the character set including the lower case.
